$100 million dollars.. now write your bucket list!

So we have all spent the last few days discussing what we are going to do when we win the $70 million lotto jackpot AND then find out that no one has won and it will jackpot to a ridiculous $100 000 000!

The concept of this amount of money is hard to imagine however it certainly changes your priorities from trying to pay out some debt and set your self up, as well as help out your family, to include some crazy fun and luxurious lifestyle changes.

So what would you do with it all?

I would like to think that I do all of the things that were already on my bucket list first (in case I get all distracted and forget what it was I really wanted before I got rich!). On this note I think that writing a bucket list before the next draw is a good idea. So what do I really want to do before I die?

Bucket List (my Australian top 8)

1. Tandem Skydive (beach landing preferred 14000ft with DVD and photos for proof!)
2. Dive with the Great White Sharks

3. Visit each of the wine regions in Australia to taste wine, eat cheese (+ designated driver)
4. Scuba dive at each of the famous diving points including wrecks and reefs
5. Sail around the Whitsunday Islands
6. Abseil and canyon the Blue Mountains (during the warmer months)
7. Visit many of the islands - Green and Fitzroy, Phillip, Rottnest, Whitsundays, Fraser etc..
8. Visit Uluru and take a hot air balloon ride over the desert

So that was my Australian bucket list, my International one is huge. I want to go to every country before I die so that is another 200 bucket lists right there. Maybe with my winnings I will hire a bucket list director : )

What is on your bucket list?

What is your favourite part of the Great Ocean Road?

With so much to see on the Great Ocean Road there is no wonder that when I ask people what their favourite part is that they cannot decide on an answer!

Icons along this 240km stretch include Bells Beach, Memorial Arch, Lorne and Angelsea, Otways Rainforest, Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and the London Bridge. With so much variation in what you can see in a single day is easy to know why it would be hard to choose.

I do have a favourite however I feel that my judgement may be unfair as I was fortunate enough to take a helicopter joy flight over the Twelve Apostles recently and of course this was a memorable moment that can now be surpassed by no other. The sensation surprised me on my first helicopter ride as it was smooth and felt effortless unlike the dramatic feeling you sometimes gain when an aeroplane takes off. It was such a gentle ascent into what can only be described as the most spectacular coastline that I have ever seen. The steep jaggered cliffs and pillars of the Twelve Apostles were much larger than I had imagined and yet appeared so small as we drifted above them.

The Great Ocean Road is great as a self drive road trip however is much more informative on an organised day tour from Melbourne with guides sharing commentary about the history and environmental perspectives of this region. I chose to take an organised Melbourne Day Tour with heli joy flight optional extra and will treasure all that I experienced forever. A great day out...

Have you been to Port Douglas?

With so much to offer in Cairns it is common that people heading to the far north do not venture much further however on a recent trip I had the opportunity to drive up to the glorious seaside township of Port Douglas and spend a few days looking around.

Port Douglas is a great departure location for cruises that head out to the Great Barrier Reef and the nearby Low Isles. With snorkel or dive boat options departing daily you can get up close with the fish and corals whilst learning about the underwater ecosystem on a guided snorkeling tour. Take this opportunity to experience scuba diving with an introductory scuba dive or if you are certified then diving equipment is available for a fee.

The incredible Low Isles off the Port Douglas coast can be accessed on a snorkel Port Douglas sailing trip which will give you plenty of time to explore this underwater paradise as well as step onto land and explore the unique bird life and history of the Isles.

Port Douglas is renowned as the point where the world heritage listed rain forest meets the Great Barrier Reef and whilst once was a remote quiet township is now well resourced offering cafes and boutiques as well as tours and a range of luxury hotels and accommodation options. It is also a great launching pad for people either self-driving or taking a tour to Cape Tribulation, Mossman Gorge or Bloomfield Falls.
