Come and see the World Heritage listed ancient tropical rainforest in North Queensland

There are two absolute jewels in North Queensland that people flock to see and they are the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest.

Most people experience the Rainforest on a 4WD day trip, travelling from Cairns through the Northern Beaches regions to Port Douglas, across the Daintree River and eventually arriving in isolated Cape Tribulation (also known as Cape Trib).

Tours include a Daintree River Cruise where crocs are commonly spotted on the banks along with a range of other wildlife.

The rainforest is best experienced with a professional guide who can teach you about the secrets of the rainforest including it's foods, medicines and history.

With tours departing daily from your Cairns, Northern Beaches or Port Douglas hotel, some tour options include lunch, entrance to various wildlife sanctuaries, guided walks, Mossman Gorge and Alexandra Range Lookout. Family passes are available on some tours.

Those precious little penguins

Phillip Island is a wildlife oasis, boasting home to the 'little penguin' breed of penguins, Australia's largest colony of fur seals, the short-tailed shearwater also known as muttonbirds as well as a wildlife park where kangaroo and wallabys roam freely. The Island is most famous for it's 'little penguin' colony, the smallest breed of penguin. A viewing area has been set up at the Phillip Island Nature Park so that visitors can view the penguins interacting in their colony in the evening "penguin parade" thanks to lights and paths that have been erected in a way that they are not bothered by the onlookers.

Tours depart daily from Melbourne and include a range of options such as hotel pickup, evening meal, full or afternoon tour, chocolate tasting and even wildlife park visit. Tour start from $89.
