On a recent trip to Brisbane with my family I realised how effectively the River Cat ferries could be used to get from one place to another, when the trip involved crossing the river. My children eagerly awaited each crossing and enjoyed spotting the animals, people and other vessels as we crossed the river. Landing on Eagle Street Pier on our last day in Brisbane we came across the fabulous Kookaburra River Queens, a pair of paddle-wheelers powered by two 350 horsepower engines. These majestic vessels offer lunch and dinner cruises down the Brisbane River, an ideal way to both take in the sights of Brisbane as well as enjoy a great buffet meal. Some journeys include live onboard entertainment as well as seafood buffet options. Prices from $35 for a midweek lunch cruise*.For best prices checkout www.DoItTour.com - BOOK NOW or FIND OUT MORE
I took my niece Aly and nephew Ethan out on the river cat recently. We toured the whole river, sat in different parts of the boat, enjoyed the water spray up the back and the sunshine up the front. The kids had a ball and didn't want to get off! Great times ...
